Our Philosophy

In Russia, the symbol of motherhood is the MATRYOSHKA, which is featured in our logo. My Russian mother taught me how to cook piroshki and she learned it from her mother. With huge respect to our mothers we continually improve our piroshki by learning from baking professionals and adding delicious local flavors to our fillings. We use only natural ingredients: best flour from local mill, sustainably grown meats, a variety of vegetables, and fruit. Making traditional piroshki is done by baking which is makes them healthier and lighter! We also use healthy cooking techniques for our fillings such as steaming, boiling, baking, sautéing.

Our Name

“AйDa” (pronounced “Ai da”) is a traditional Russian exclamation that shows positive emotions and is similar to the meaning of “Wow”. Pirozhki (plural for pirozhok, Russian: пирожок, пирожки), is sometimes translated as piroshki. I use SH not ZH in the name because it is written as ZH (Ж), but pronounced as SH (Ш). This is the official (and literal) translation from Russian to English and is much easier to pronounce! This is important because AйDa Piroshkis are easy to eat and easy to love!
